SMSC has deployed over 10 X-Series systems over the past two quarters, including both CX and EX configurations. The X-Series is utilized to test SMSC’s PC, environmental monitoring and control, high speed USB, and networking devices. “Although LTX is our established test system supplier, we evaluated several alternatives to make our next generation decision,” noted Peter Byrnes, vice president of operations for SMSC. “Our evaluation looked at technology, cost of test and support – and we found that LTX and the X-Series were superior to the alternatives.
